💻 Bridging Software Engineering and Advanced Humanoids right here in Barcelona! 🚀

Behind every breakthrough in robotic locomotion lies exceptionally robust, scalable, and high-performance research software. That is why PAL Robotics is thrilled to announce our participation in the Research Software Engineering Conference (RSE 2026), taking place from September 8–10 right here in our home city of Barcelona!

We are incredibly excited to welcome the global RSE community to our headquarters’ backyard. To mark this special hometown event, our CTO, Luca Marchionni, will be delivering a keynote talk focusing on KANGAROO—our state-of-the-art bipedal humanoid robot designed for dynamic locomotion and reinforcement learning research.

Building a humanoid with low moving inertia and complex linear actuators requires pioneering software engineering. Luca will dive deep into how open-source architecture, real-time control frameworks (like ROS 2 and ros2_control), and advanced simulation tools are used to solve complex whole-body dynamics and bring KANGAROO’s free-walking capabilities to life.
