CANOPIES

Project overview

The CANOPIES project aims to develop a Human-Robot prototype for crop farming (Agri-Food) to address challenges in Human-Robot Interaction and Collaboration. An integrated system of farming and logistics robots will operate within a table grape vineyard for harvesting and pruning, demonstrating the project approach.

Our Role

PAL Robotics will manufacture the upper-body dual-arm agronomic system and agronomic end-effectors for the CANOPIES robotic prototype. Leveraging our TIAGo++ robot platform, we will contribute to the development of the collaborative prototype for precision agriculture in table grape vineyards.

Key responsibilities

  • Manufacturing the upper-body dual-arm agronomic system for the CANOPIES robotic prototype.
  • Developing agronomic end-effectors to facilitate harvesting and pruning tasks.
  • Using the TIAGo++ robot platform as the basis for the agronomic system.
  • Contributing to the advancement of precision agriculture in table grape vineyards through collaborative robotics.
