• “A brief history of ROS 2: how the popular robotics framework came to be” |  Esteve Fernández

Esteve Fernández has been involved in the ROS community for 15 years, both as a core member of the ROS team at Open Robotics and as an external contributor. In this talk he will give a retrospective of ROS, starting from its early days.

In a more personal approach to the robotics framework, this talk will take a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of ROS 2, the people who made it possible, and a glimpse of what’s to come.

• “ROS 2 Projects at Intelligent Robotics Lab (URJC)” | Francisco Rico

It has been nearly a decade since the Intelligent Robotics Lab began its journey with ROS 2. Since then, the lab has been highly active within the ROS community, contributing to major projects such as Nav2 and Behavior Trees, as well as developing its own initiatives, including ROS 2 Pepper, MOCAP4ROS2, PlanSys2, and RCLCPP Cascade Lifecycle, among others.

In this talk, we will provide a brief overview of each of these projects, focusing on their technical features and outcomes.
