CAPSUL-IA

Project description

CAPSUL-IA aims to universalising the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in industry, focusing on simplifying AI adoption through pre-configured AI solutions. The project addresses the challenges many industries face in adopting AI, such as selecting appropriate AI models, managing complex data, and determining affordable computing platforms. CAPSUL-IA proposes AI capsules – containers of AI models tailored to various problems, balancing cost, accuracy, inference speed, and robustness.
PAL Robotics, plays a crucial role in CAPSUL-IA. Our focus is on developing mobile manipulators for healthcare and industrial environments. The project will explore enhancements to our mobile manipulator robot, TIAGo, aiming to position them as more collaborative and safer products in the market. This development is essential to meet the growing demand for mobile manipulators that offer more flexibility than traditional industrial robotic arms, whether collaborative or not, where safety requirements are also paramount.

CAPSUL-IA is set to make a significant impact by lowering the threshold for AI adoption in the industry, potentially leading to the widespread use of pre-designed, integrated solutions for a variety of applications. The project’s approach to developing AI capsules is designed to function on platforms with different performance-to-price ratios, making it easier for users to acquire the platform and use the capsule directly. PAL Robotics is committed to contributing to this innovative approach, enhancing the capabilities and safety of our robotic solutions in line with the needs of AI-driven industries.
