Our Role
PAL Robotics plays a leading role in the COGNITIUM project as the primary industrial partner, providing the TIAGo Pro robot as the core platform for research, integration, and validation. We drive the development of the hybrid cognitive architecture, combining generative AI with symbolic planning, and lead the integration of advanced Vision-Language and Vision-Language-Action models. PAL Robotics is responsible for enabling natural-language-driven task execution, robust autonomy, and adaptive behaviour in the hotel-room use case. Through close collaboration with research centres, we ensure that cutting-edge cognitive robotics research is translated into a reliable and interpretable real-world solution.
Key responsibilities
- Providing the TIAGo Pro robotic platform and leading system integration efforts.
- Co-developing the hybrid cognitive architecture combining generative AI and symbolic planning.
- Integrating Vision-Language Models (VLMs) and Vision-Language-Action Models (VLAs) for contextual understanding and adaptive physical response.
- Implementing natural-language instruction capabilities for robotic task execution in hotel-room environments.
- Validating the full robotic system in a realistic hospitality setting to reach TRL 5.
- Supporting technological transfer and strengthening collaboration between industry and research centres in Catalonia.
