RoboCup 2026
June 30 - July 6
The world-renowned robotics competition RoboCup returns in 2026, bringing together leading research teams and innovative robotic platforms from across the globe. As every year, PAL Robotics is proud to support teams competing in the RoboCup@Home League, where our TIAGo continues to play a key role in advancing service robotics research.
The RoboCup@Home League focuses on developing autonomous service and assistive robots capable of operating in realistic domestic environments. Through a series of benchmark tests, robots must demonstrate advanced capabilities such as:
- Human-Robot Interaction and Cooperation
- Navigation and Mapping in dynamic environments
- Computer Vision and Object Recognition
- Object Manipulation
- Adaptive behaviours and task planning
- System integration and ambient intelligence
These challenges simulate everyday household scenarios, pushing robots to interact naturally with people while autonomously completing complex tasks.
About RoboCup@Home
The RoboCup@Home League is the largest international annual competition dedicated to autonomous service robots. It evaluates robotic systems in a realistic home environment, including spaces such as living rooms and kitchens, and sometimes extended environments like shops or public areas.
Teams compete in a series of tests designed to assess real-world robotic capabilities while meeting criteria such as:
- Social relevance and real-world applicability
- Human-robot interaction
- Scientific innovation
- Ease of understanding for the public
- Efficient and engaging demonstrations
The competition culminates in the finals, where the highest-ranking teams perform integrated demonstrations evaluated by a jury composed of roboticists, industry representatives, designers, and members of the public.
