August 31 @ 8:00 am - September 4 @ 5:00 pm
The 29th IEEE International Conference on Robot & Human – RO-MAN, is a leading forum where state-of-the-art innovative results, the latest developments as well as future perspectives relating to robot and human interactive communication are presented and discussed.
The RO-MAN 2020 General Chairs and the Steering Committee have decided to take this year’s conference fully virtual. Following a careful assessment of the uncertainty due to the pandemic evolution and its impact on international travel and people’s safety, it has been inevitable to make this difficult decision.
PAL Robotics is sad that the physical event won’t take place this year, but could not be more excited to join the virtual event that will be held from the 31st of August till the 4th of September, 2020.
This year PAL Robotics went ahead and submitted a paper on “ARI: the Social Assistive Robot and Companion” written by Sara Cooper, Alessandro Di Fava, Carlos Vivas, Luca Marchionni and Francesco Ferro and is very proud to announce that the paper has been officially accepted.
This paper reviews the challenges that the elderly, people with mobility constraints, hospital patients and isolated users face, and how socially assistive robots can be used to help them.
ARI can help administer first-care attention and can provide emotional support to people who live in isolation, including the elderly or users who are confined because of infectious diseases such as Covid-19.
e-See you at the virtual RO-MAN 2020!
