SUMMARY:Robotic Grasping and Manipulation Competition
DESCRIPTION:[Content in progress] \nSubmit your application here. \nFor any further questions please contact mmt-rgmc2026@pal-robotics.com. \nMobile Manipulation at the RGMC in ICRA 2026\nThe 11th edition of the Robotic Grasping and Manipulation Competition (RGMC) will take place during ICRA 2026. The competition is to assess the autonomous manipulation capabilities of robotics systems when interacting with unknown or novel objects with varying physical properties. \nThis edition of the RGMC will feature a Mobile Manipulation track\, organized and sponsored by PAL Robotics\, in collaboration with Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and NIST. \nThe Mobile Manipulation Track challenges teams to develop integrated robotic solutions that combine manipulation\, navigation\, and perception on a single platform. Teams will work with a mobile manipulator provided on site: PAL Robotics’ TIAGo Pro\, a bimanual mobile manipulator equipped with an omnidirectional drive base\, designed to support autonomous mobility and dexterous interaction in structured environments. \nDuring the challenge\, the robot must autonomously navigate between multiple workstations\, perform precise docking\, and execute an industrially inspired assembly task based on the NIST Assembly Task Boards. Successful task execution requires accurate positioning and tightly coordinated manipulation. \nThe task environment encourages the use of advanced manipulation strategies\, including coordinated two-arm operation\, object hand-offs\, and part stabilization during assembly\, while still allowing teams flexibility in their approach. \nIn addition to task execution\, teams will demonstrate positioning and pose accuracy through standardized evaluation procedures conducted at both the beginning and end of each run. Overall\, the track is designed to highlight the versatility\, robustness\, and adaptability of mobile manipulators in real-world industrial manufacturing scenarios. \nTo support development and preparation\, participating teams will be granted access to a practice version of the task setup prior to the competition. \nTentative Timeline\n\n\n\nTeam submission deadline: Feb 9th\nFeedback from organizers: Feb 16th\nDry-runs at PAL Robotics: Organized from end of April to Mid May\nRGMC Competition: During ICRA 2026

SUMMARY:RoboCup 2026
DESCRIPTION:The world-renowned robotics competition RoboCup returns in 2026\, bringing together leading research teams and innovative robotic platforms from across the globe. As every year\, PAL Robotics is proud to support teams competing in the RoboCup@Home League\, where our TIAGo continues to play a key role in advancing service robotics research. \nThe RoboCup@Home League focuses on developing autonomous service and assistive robots capable of operating in realistic domestic environments. Through a series of benchmark tests\, robots must demonstrate advanced capabilities such as: \n\nHuman-Robot Interaction and Cooperation\nNavigation and Mapping in dynamic environments\nComputer Vision and Object Recognition\nObject Manipulation\nAdaptive behaviours and task planning\nSystem integration and ambient intelligence\n\nThese challenges simulate everyday household scenarios\, pushing robots to interact naturally with people while autonomously completing complex tasks. \nAbout RoboCup@Home\nThe RoboCup@Home League is the largest international annual competition dedicated to autonomous service robots. It evaluates robotic systems in a realistic home environment\, including spaces such as living rooms and kitchens\, and sometimes extended environments like shops or public areas. \nTeams compete in a series of tests designed to assess real-world robotic capabilities while meeting criteria such as: \n\nSocial relevance and real-world applicability\nHuman-robot interaction\nScientific innovation\nEase of understanding for the public\nEfficient and engaging demonstrations\n\nThe competition culminates in the finals\, where the highest-ranking teams perform integrated demonstrations evaluated by a jury composed of roboticists\, industry representatives\, designers\, and members of the public.
