Advanced quadruped platform to accelerate your developments empowered by the research community.
OUR MOTIVATION
The mission of PAL Robotics in collaboration with Open Dynamic Robot initiative is to make this open sourced advanced quadruped platform accessible to further promote robotics learning for researchers and students. The KIT version of SOLO 12 will allow you to enjoy the experience of building your own quadruped robot with a single procurement procedure from a single supplier. This way, your team will be able to save time and focus on working with SOLO 12.

Developed under the aegis of the Open Dynamic Robot Initiative, the project was launched in 2016 by Ludovic Righetti and MPI-IS investigator Felix Grimminger, a mechatronics engineer, and Alexander Badri-Spröwitz, leader of the Dynamic Locomotion Research Group. It was originally funded by Righetti’s Erc starting grant and then by several MPI-IS’ Grassroots Projects and a U.S. National Science Foundation Grant.
This work is done in collaboration between the Motion Generation and Control Group, the Dynamic Locomotion Group and the Robotics Central Scientific Facility at the Max-Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, the Machines in Motion Laboratory at New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering and the Gepetto Team at the LAAS/CNRS.
