DIH-HERO Knowledge Conference

On the 19-20 of May, an independent platform which connects Digital Innovation Hubs across Europe, DIH-HERO, is organizing the DIH-HERO Knowledge Conference. During this event, DIH-HERO will give an insight view on key topics in healthcare robotics. In different sessions over two days the aspects of standards and regulations, state of the art technologies, providers and users, funding and success stories will be presented and discussed by experts in the field. At the event, on the 20th of May, 14:00 (CEST), Dr. Alessadro Di Fava, PAL Robotics’ Technical Coordinator of EU projects & Robotics Engineer, will participate in a session led by Kosta Jovanović, Assistant Professor, focused on “Success stories”. The session will point out how the DIH-HERO network supports connectivity and stimulates innovations in robotic healthcare domains. During this session Dr. Di Fava will present our success stories of two DIH-HERO projects – FAST AV and SANDRo. Fast AV: During this 2 month, Fast AV, project, we have adapted our TIAGo Base Conveyor and Delivery, to deliver goods in hospitals to avoid unnecessary contact with patients and allocate their time on more urgent needs. A safe navigation in narrow and crowded corridors has been possible due to collaboration with ACCERION and their lasers. SANDRo (Semi Autonomous Night and Day Robot): SANDRo is an innovative robot that provides assistive services to people with difficulties in Activities of Daily Living (ADL). In this project, the ambition is to deploy the proposed solution in large scale real-life trials and demonstrate the required safety, robustness and stability. The project aims to conduct trials in several care centers and test facilities across Europe. SANDRo is based on an integration of breakthrough software with existing technologies, to be launched into a new market. PAL Robotics’ TIAGo will take part in the project, to be deployed as the service robot platform. If you would like to join the event, make sure to register here.
