Project description

Over the last years, the robotics market has been filled with many new models of robots. This tendency leads us to imagine the future with multiple robots helping us around and performing a rich variety of tasks, while raises a relevant challenge: how will diverse robots coordinate?

Co4Robots’ purpose is to create a multi-robot system that is able to interconnect and control diverse robots in an environment that is constantly changing. The work will focus on decentralizing the control and coordination of heterogeneous robots that should interact between them and with humans. So, for instance, if a robot happens to fail from doing a task, another one can notice it and go to the rescue. Saving time and optimizing resources will be best achieved if all the platforms are integrated into a multi-robot system, even if different developers create each robot.
